EVEN WHEN the West Indies’ light shines brightest, there are dark clouds somewhere around.
The latest thunderstorm started to brew yesterday, when outspoken West Indies T20 skipper Darren Sammy called out the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) for what he considered a lack of support leading up to the World T20 final in India.
In the midst of celebrating the team’s exciting four-wicket win over a battling England in the championship match at Eden Gardens in Kolkata yesterday, Sammy made it clear all was still not well between players and the WICB.
He did have kudos for chairman of CARICOM’s cricket committee, Keith Mitchell, the Prime Minister of Grenada, but did not hold back on criticism of WICB president Dave Cameron. (BA)
