A FOUR-MEMBER team from the newly-formed Barbados Debating Society will be heading off to Germany in July.

They will be representing Barbados at the World Schools’ Championship, where 66 countries are expected to be represented.

It is the first time students from schools outside of Harrison College will be in attendance. The 2016 team is made up of David Johnson and Daveed Gittens from Harrison College, Nia Marshall of Queen’s College and Dia Parris of the St Michael School.

The individual schools are responsible for raising the $5 000 for each student to go to Germany. (YB)
