AS THE “alarming data” continues to come in about the lawless acts of public service vehicle drivers, Minister of Transport Michael Lashley said his officials might be looking at enforcing the three strikes policy in the looming amendment to the Road Traffic Act.
The minister was speaking to the SUNDAY SUN after chairing a meeting with the organisations representing public service vehicle operators and owners – the Alliance Owners of Public Transport (AOPT) and Association of Public Transport Operators (APTO) – to head off a strike which had been planned for this week.
“Our data, our hotline – we set up a hotline about a year ago and we have some alarming data in relation to the infringements relative to the Road Traffic Act,” the minister revealed. (HLE)
