WATER-STARVED BARBADIANS who depend on the Castle Grant reservoir in St Joseph are being promised some relief by the end of the month.

Barbados Water Authority (BWA) communications specialist, Joy-Ann Haigh, has said that efforts to source water from a Sweet Vale basin and Groves well in St George would be realised within two to three weeks.

Haigh said these two supply sources were aimed at resolving the outages being experienced by residents serviced by the Golden Ridge and Castle Grant reservoirs, particularly those living in the higher elevations of St Joseph, St Andrew, St John and St Thomas.

She said an estimated 500 000 to one million gallons of water per day would be produced from the Sweet Vale well once the newly built pumping station on site becomes operational.
