GRENVILLE PHILLIPS II believes he has the solution for turning the wheel of the “Barbados titanic” away from an economic iceberg.
Speaking at a lecture at Combermere School on Thursday night, Phillips gave the small audience insights into how he and the other 11 candidates, who he said were affiliated to Solutions Inc., saw the country failing, and how things could be salvaged.
He added that the party was looking for 18 more candidates so they could run a full slate of 30 for the next general election.
Phillips said that both the ruling Democratic Labour Party (DLP) and the Barbados Labour Party (BLP) were guilty of accumulating high debt, and that while the DLP was now getting the “sparks”, the country had been on a downward trend before 2008, when the BLP lost the election. (YB)
