LEADER OF THE Opposition Mia Mottley is still awaiting word on the hearing of the no-confidence motion filed on Tuesday against the Government.

However, Mottley said she expected that since such motions were normally regarded as urgent that it would be debated within a week or two.

Yesterday she told the SUNDAY SUN that she had no idea when the motion would be heard in the House of Assembly since it was up to the Speaker to determine that. The House is scheduled to sit on Tuesday.

The motion was filed last week with the office of the Clerk of Parliament and the leader of the Barbados Labour Party said she had expected to have heard from the clerk as to the Speaker’s acceptance of the motion or any recommended changes. (AC)
