THOSE AT ST PATRICK’S Roman Catholic Cathedral saw red yesterday morning as the Barbados Labour Party (BLP) held its 78th Founders’ Day Service.
As party faithful packed the cathedral to pay their respects to one of the region’s oldest political parties, Father Charles Dominique and Bishop Jason Gordon commended the BLP on its legacy.
“Seventy-eight years is a significant achievement under any circumstance,” Bishop Gordon said.
Opposition Leader Mia Mottley said a return to values-based politics was important to the BLP’s existence.
Although kicked out by the party last year, MP for Christ Church West Dr Maria Agard sat up front and centre in the church where she is a member and worships regularly. She sat beside her former party leader, though their interaction was limited. (AD)
