No regrets as Broomes prepares to bow out

JEFF BROOMES remains a man without any regrets about the stance he took during his teaching career that spans four decades.

And that’s despite the fact that his stewardship sparked industrial unrest at two secondary schools in totally different parishes.

“I leave with a clear conscience,” said the veteran educator who gave 40 and a half years of his life to the teaching service.

“I live with a commitment to help others, especially children who are put in my care. I always say two things: I have to be a man for my daughter so I’ll be a man for anybody else, and what I do not want for my child and my grandchild, I do not want for anybody else’s child,” he said.
