Warriors down Bulls

WARRIORS are still very much alive. Corey McDonald had a game-high 19 points, including a late go-ahead trey, as Hilton Barbados Warriors stayed in the playoff hunt via Tuesday’s 68-60 victory over Burger King Clapham Bulls in the Cooperators General Insurance Basketball Premier League at the Wildey Gymnasium.

It was the third win in as many games for the Dayrells Road side, who moved into a tie with the idle Lumber Company Lakers for the fourth and final post-season berth with just two games remaining in the regular season.

They very nearly threw it all away, though, having squandered an eight-point fourth-quarter lead (49-41) before trailing 55-52 with three minutes left against a lowly Bulls side that was without national player Rahiim Gibbons for that final period.

And Clapham further maintained that lead on a Kodia Leacock layup moments later. (JM)
