Health inspectors on the job

WAY BEFORE sunrise they are on the prowl for acts of illegal dumping.

From up north in Clinketts, St Lucy to down south in Long Beach, Christ Church, officers from the Ministry of Health have been intensely engaged over the past week keeping watch on pesky perpetrators.

They have combed many tracks and pockets across the country, forcing illegal dumpers to retract their refuse, inclusive of soggy sponges from mattresses, rusty household appliances and rotting animals.

Also present in tracks nationwide were large amounts of coconut husks, both fresh and green and old and brown, along with rusty household appliances and tyres.

 Officers from the Ministry of Health have stepped up surveillance to catch those who are still dumping in spite of concern about chikungunya, Zika and dengue fever. (MR)
