WITH THREE ROUNDS to go and three points ahead Ronald “Suki” King is well placed to retain the Masters title in the Henderson Layne Memorial Draughts Competition.

Following carnage in the previous two rounds, the front runners have been playing with increased caution. King drew with Richard Grazette and Darwin “King of Cross” Lorde when the competition continued on Thursday night at the Christ Church Girl’s School.

Defending champion and second-placed Junior “Post” Walrond also drew with Carson Farley and Rawle “Schoolboy” Williams.

King and Williams, who have had an excellent tournament, are the only unbeaten players.

Williams, Farley, Grazette, Lorde and Michael Barker are locked on 20 points with Ian Callender and Jeffrey “Socks” Clarke on 19 apiece.
