Checker Hall grab title

IT WAS a good night for northern teams when the Barbados Football Association’s (BFA) Division Two and Three playoffs kicked off on Wednesday night at the Wildey Astroturf.

Chicken Barn Checker Hall reigned supreme in Division Three when they narrowly defeated Hothersal Turning 2-1 in the clash between the two zone winners to take the title.

After five years in the division, Checker Hall finally made the leap to the higher division, a feat which made their St Lucy fans proud, none more so than the team’s head coach Marcellus Babb.

“It feels absolutely fantastic. Our hard work has been rewarded. I think the guys put in a lot of effort, stuck to the game plan and we came out victorious,” said Babb. (ROG)
