DORIEL PHILLIPS left her Central Drive, Haynesville, St James home last night for choir practice at the nearby Gospel Lighthouse Church but did not make it.

Phillips, 65, collapsed and fell in the road en route and later died at the scene in Waterman’s Village, St James.

Her partner of 50 years and the man to whom she was married for 38 years, Orville Phillips, described his “boo” as quiet and church-going.

The plan for today was for Orville to purchase tickets for the two of them to fly to England next month.

It was to be a belated birthday gift to Doriel.  (YB)
