It looked much worse than it really was.

Five people were thanking their lucky stars yesterday evening, after escaping serious injury in a three-car smash up along Coverley, Christ Church.

The mid-afternoon accident attracted 15 responders in three tenders from the Barbados Fire Service, but fire officer Henderson Patrick was relieved to inform the media that the only injuries were cuts and bruises.

Three people were still taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital complaining of soft tissue injuries.

Randall Sealy, 56, who was driving one of the vehicles, had a couple cuts, but was standing nearby in conversation with onlookers when an ambulance arrived. (BA)
