THE MUCH TALKED about no-confidence motion against the Democratic Labour Party (DLP) government has failed.

The motion, brought on Tuesday by Opposition Leader Mia Mottley on behalf of the Barbados Labour Party, was defeated 16-12 at 2:06 this morning after a marathon debating session in the House of Assembly.

The 12 Opposition members voted for the motion while 15 government Members of Parliament voted against it. Independent MP for Christ Church West Dr Maria Agard also voted against the motion.

Dr Agard was expelled from the BLP last year.

Independent MP for St Peter Owen Arthur was not present as his father Frank Arthur passed away the previous night. (BA)
