Stage on court upsets Sonics coach

NOT EVERYONE seems to be on the same page with St John’s Cinderella run.

Head coach Charles Griffith said he felt disrespected after a stage was dropped in the middle of Urban Vybz St John’s Sonics’ home court in Gall Hill yesterday without any prior consultation with a single club member.

The stage was apparently erected to facilitate tomorrow’s cultural show Celebrating Who We Are, which is being held by the Ministry of Culture and the Community Independence Secretariat.

But Griffith, who is also the acting Barbados Amateur Basketball Association president, said he was only made aware of the situation when one of his players sent him a picture of the court via WhatsApp yesterday morning. (JM)
