Picnic treat for NAB folk

NO COMPLAINTS OF ABUSE are coming from the elderly and other recipients of the Home Care Programme of the National Assistance Board (NAB), says acting director Andrew Browne.

And he has given the assurance that measures are in place to prevent it.

“We monitor that situation with our home care workers. They have been admonished not to abuse the elderly because there can be some dire consequences.

“We have managers and team leaders who also go in and check, so there is this high level of supervision. If there is any word of any such behaviour, we will deal with it seriously,” he said.

Browne said the home care workers would assist with baths, cooking, cleaning and other household chores. (LK)
