Six Men’s shed in danger of collapse

A SIGNIFICANT LANDMARK at Six Men’s in St Peter is falling into the sea.

It is the popular shed in the heart of the fishing community which has been a hang-out spot for several residents, particularly men, who play dominoes, cards and generally socialise.

Several concerned residents contacted the DAILY NATION yesterday to publicly plead for Government to do something urgently about the beach erosion in the area and save the community shed.

Its back section has already been uprooted and is leaning dangerously towards the sea. However, yesterday, when a NATION team visited, men were still fearlessly congregating inside the shed despite the perilous situation. (MB)
