‘No way out’

THE CHILDREN IN White Hill, St Andrew, are “on vacation”.

Not because schools are on recess but, said outspoken resident and upset parent Carlitha Andrews, because they simply cannot get there.

And if they do get to their respective schools, they might not get back home.

This is the situation today after overnight rain from Thursday into Friday caused what was left of their temporary road, built six months ago, to disappear into the gully. Deep cracks tell the tale of the latest episode in the saga of road slippage which has been plaguing residents for the last few years. It all happened in less than a week.

“It really hit home now because it is affecting the children’s education ‘cause the children cannot go to school,” said Andrews.
