BTMI still keen on Rihanna

TOURISM OFFICIALS are still interested in working with Rihanna again.

Two years after a three-year promotional contract with the Grammy Award-winning pop star came to an end, the chief executive officer of Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc. (BTMI), William Griffith, said a new deal may be sought.

“We believe at BTMI that Rihanna is the single biggest Barbadian icon in the world ever,” he told the NATION’s editorial forum last week.

“We have had some discussions in BTMI in terms of the roles that Rihanna can play. We haven’t had any direct discussions in recent times with her management but it can very well be in the offing and I think our minister indicated that but there has got to be some discussion in terms of how we can leverage her.”
