Bridge vendors ordered to move

VENDORS ON THE Charles Duncan O’Neal Bridge and at the entrance of the Fairchild Street Bus Terminal in Bridgetown have been given an ultimatum to move or be moved by the police.

They have been given 21 days to dismantle their makeshift tents and stalls.

Yesterday, others who sell fruits, vegetables and other items along the busy pedestrian walkway did not take too kindly to the move.

Those who ply their trade along Hardwood Alley which leads to the River terminal used by PSVs, had no choice as witnesses said the vendors were removed by a team of cops who combed the area instructing the operators to pack up and leave. (MR)
