Body hearing yet to heat up

THE legal wrangle involving the Barbados Amateur Bodybuilding & Fitness Federation (BABBFF) is far from over.

The substantive matter revolving around the constitutionality of last October’s controversial general meeting did not even come up for discussion at last Friday’s hearing in the Supreme Court.

Attorneys for the two parties were locked in discussion on some preliminary matters that were raised by the defendants. The manner in which the application was brought before the court seems to have been a bone of contention.

July 1 is the date set for the decision to be made on the preliminary issues. Alvan Babb made the submission on behalf of the plaintiffs Manasseh King and Irvine “Big Red’s” Streete, while Duana Peterson represented the defendants, Dr Andrew Forde, Shirley Garnes and Bernard Harewoodof the BABBFF.
