Dowrich’s century sets up YMPC win

SUMMARY: An impressive knock of 122 from West Indies batsman Shane Dowrich set the stage for YMPC to build a match winning total against D’s Mega Styles Foundation who went under by 63 runs in their sixth round Barbados Cricket Association Super Cup match at Beckles Road.

HIGHLIGHTS: Dowrich’s run-a-ball knock spanned 176 minutes, and included 21 threes and three fours after he went to the crease to the day’s second ball. 

Dowrich and makeshift opener Nkosi Ross (13) added 55 for the second wicket in 9.3 overs. The wicket-keeper/batsman and Kemal Smith then put on 84 for the third wicket in 13 overs.  Smith made 32 but fell lbw to leg-spinner Jonathan Drakes (3-47).  Emillien (4-47) accounted for Dwayne     Smith who went cheaply in his first match after IPL duties.

Despite losing wickets in a heap, Foundation were kept in the hunt with useful contributions from Dominic Drakes 46 (62 balls, 3×5, 4×4), while Shaquan Carrington with 39 and Shem Watson (24) aided with a third wicket stand of 48 in 9.5 overs.  Kemal Smith captured three for 37. (EDH)
