THE DREDGING OF sand from the inner basin of the Careenage has started.
Work began on a containment pond last month and today workers began filling it with dredged sand.
The sand will be allowed to dry before being transported inland.
Pleasure craft operators had expressed concern about the build-up of sand in the mouth of the bay. (BN)
