ESAF Pickwick overcame dreary weather and a wet outfield to outlast fellow Super 10 qualifiers Carlton in a low-scoring duel on Monday night when the quarter-finals of the Sagicor T20 commenced at the 3Ws Oval.

Pickwick, last year’s losing finalists who had to qualify for the Super 12 because of being demoted to the First Division for this season, recovered from the loss of key batsmen, brothers Shai and Kyle Hope, within the first seven deliveries, to scramble a nervy win by six runs under the Duckworth/Lewis method.

Carlton, who won the toss, held the opponents to 116 for nine in 20 overs, but, facing a revised target of 100 off 16 overs after rain held up the resumption, could only manage 93 for eight in reply.
