 A BRILLIANT HALF-CENTURY by wicketkeeper/batsman Andre Roach (54 not out) led ICBL Empire to a tense four-wicket victory over Sierka Rentals Maple in a gripping quarter-final at the Three Ws Oval on Tuesday night.

The middle order batsman smashed a six off the first delivery of the final over, which was entrusted to West Indies pacer Kemar Roach.

The massive hit easily cleared the midwicket boundary and secured victory for Empire after the Bank Hall club started the final over needing three runs to win. It also brought up his half-century, which took just 36 balls and included five sixes along with a solitary four.
