TWENTY-TWO year-old Jamaican national Samuel Leroy Campbell has been remanded to Dodds Prison after appearing before a Magistrate’s Court on a number of drug charges.
Campbell arrived in Barbados by air last Thursday and after being interviewed by the Drug Squad personnel was referred to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital where he passed out 121 packages of cannabis weighing one kilogramme.
He appeared at Magistrates Court and was sentenced as follows: on the charges of possession of cannabis, he was fined $10 000 forthwith or faced years in prison; on possession with intent to supply cannabis he was convicted, reprimanded and discharged, on trafficking cannabis, he was reprimanded and discharged; and on importation of cannabis he was fined $5 000 forthwith or two years to run concurrently with the above sentence.
