TWO ST MICHAEL young men are now nursing injuries after a drive-by shoot out in Grazettes, St Michael.

NATION ONLINE understands that the men, one believed to be in his late teens and the other in his early 20s, are close friends.

The incident occurred in Scotts Terrace, which was described as a quiet neighbourhood. An older gentleman who said he resided in Grazettes for many years, summed up the recent hike in gun violence as nonsense.

Though not revealing his identity he said the young people were becoming more educated but making less educated decisions.

Another resident of 42 years said what was disconcerting was the large quantity of firearms on the streets, especially in the hands of the wrong people.

The man said he knew both men as he practically watched them grow into adults.

He said he heard one youngster was shot in the back with a single bullet, while the other was hit with two in the stomach area.

What troubled him most though, were the 20 plus shots heard penetrating the air.

“You would got to be deaf if you ain’t hear them,” he said.

A mother said she was just happy her children, who were playing outside, were safe at the time of the incident.

Acting Assistant Superintendent David Welch said investigations into the matter were continuing. (MR)
