Update: Schoolgirl injured in accident

POLICE ARE CONTINUING investigations into an accident which occurred on the  Speightstown By-Pass Road, Speightstown, St Peter around 8:27 a.m. Wednesday.

Zawadi Gilkes, 13, of St Stephens, Black Rock, St Michael, was crossing the By-Pass Road when she was struck by a car which did not stop. She sustained lacerations to her face and right hand and was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital by ambulance.

The driver of the vehicle voluntarily presented himself to the District E Police Station where he is assisting with the investigation. (PR/SAT)
