NOBODY COULD GET between 32-year-old Nigel Small and his beloved motorcycle.
This was something his family knew and accepted. However, their worst fears were realised on Monday when the Westmoreland, St James resident was left with severe injuries to his head and pelvis after an accident.
Small, who is a patient at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, was said by younger brother Demi Small (below) to be in serious but stable condition.
He told the WEEKEND NATION yesterday that his brother had been transferred from the surgical ward to another ward.
The motorcyclist was travelling along Salters Road, St George, when he was involved in a collision with a minibus driven by Deon Carter, of Good Intent, St George, around 2:30 p.m., according to a report from police public relations officer Acting Assistant Superintendent David Welch.
Though they were not close, Demi said, he and his brother often kept in contact despite how busy their lives became.
“[Our relationship] was up and down because we don’t really communicate but anything pertaining to family, he would be there,” added the youngest of the four Small siblings.
And like the rest of the family, Demi is praying that Nigel “will pull through”. (MR)
