VENDORS AND THE Ministry of Agriculture will meet at the negotiating table as they work towards an agreement on the vexing issue of street vending in Bridgetown.
That was the latest development after the two sides held a walk through The City yesterday morning to identify problem areas and come up with solutions.
Armed with pen and paper, president of Barbados Association of Retailers and Vendors (BARVEN) Alister Alexander and officers of the Markets Division left the Central Police Station on Coleridge Street to popular areas for vending.
As the manager of markets Sherlock King and other ministry officials toured the hotspots, Alexander explained that he was in favour of the “progressive” manner the vendors were being handled. (AD)
