NO OTHER ENTITY but the Barbados Agricultural Development and Marketing Corporation (BADMC) has a licence to import chicken wings into the island.
And, said the minister who has oversight for the agency which issues those licences, he has found no proof that the BADMC deliberately tried to sabotage the poultry industry by importing chicken wings while local farmers had more than adequate supplies for the local market.
Minister of Industry, International Business, Commerce and Small Business Development Donville Inniss made the declaration to the SATURDAY SUN after he chaired a high-level meeting of officials from a number of ministries and agencies in the wake of the revelation that an undisclosed amount of undocumented chicken wings were confiscated from a business in Hinds Hill, St Michael, and destroyed.
