THIS NEW RACE around Bushy Park is going nowhere fast.

The SUNDAY SUN has discovered that though Government compulsorily acquired the land at the popular St Philip racing facility in 2010, the owners of the property are yet to be compensated.

They have gone to court to get the millions owed to them, but the case brought by the United Kingdom-based developers is now in limbo, with no finish in clear sight.

The last time lawyers for the owners and Government were in court was November 15 last year, but no return date has been set.

The case was brought because the British owners felt Government had low-balled them with an offer in 2011 that was one-third less than what the property is currently valued. The owners had spent almost $4 million for the original purchase of the land.
