FEAR NOT!

Minister of Industry and Commerce Donville Inniss is satisfied that Barbados’ imported foods are fit for consumption.

He also believes that the food trade in Barbados is still governed by strict regulations, and remains secure.

His assurances come following a story published in the SUNDAY SUN last week, which claimed that employees at a local distribution company were ordered to remove labels from packages of meat and other goods after they had expired.

The minister said such occurrences were “rare”, partly because his ministry sought to be “proactive”.

“Barbadians must not have any fear about the quality of items imported or being produced in Barbados,” he said.
