Foreday Morning ‘won’t be cancelled’

BASED ON INTELLIGENCE gathered so far by police, there is no immediate threat to next month’s Foreday Morning event.

As a result, one of the biggest shows in the Crop Over Festival will go on.

That assurance has come from the island’s top cop amidst reports that persons had threatened to disrupt the event on July 30, when thousands of revellers are expected to hit the streets.

In an interview with the WEEKEND NATION, Acting Commissioner of Police Tyrone Griffith admitted that while events had been cancelled in the past because of serious threats, this time around police were on top of the situation. (RB)
