FIRE OFFICIALS are battling a blaze at Murphy’s Pasture, Emmerton, St Michael.

Seven people have been left homeless after one house was destroyed in the densely-populated area behind St Mary’s Primary School.

Smoke is thick and people with respiratory problems should avoid the area.

However, the fire has drawn a large crowd of onlookers.

Two fire tenders – including a water tanker – are on the scene.  (TSG)
