Recession ‘hits’ overseas studies

THE RECESSION, more so than acts of terrorism, has stymied Barbadian students’ efforts to study overseas.

This has been revealed by acting director of counselling and placement at the Barbados Community College, Cheryl Licorish.

She was speaking as the BCC hosted a pre-departure orientation workshop yesterday for students who were on their way to pursue study overseas.

“The recession has impacted on our students going overseas to study. It is the recession that impacted more so than the terrorists threats,” said Licorish. (HLE)
