JOEL GARNER is set to take over as West Indies team manager today amidst questions over whether he should continue as a West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) director and president of the Barbados Cricket Association (BCA).

The outstanding former West Indies fast bowler has been appointed on a two-year contract to fill the position that had been vacant since the beginning of the year.

His first assignment will be the imminent four-Test home series between West Indies and India that runs from July 21 to August 22. (HG)
