TORONTO – Veteran Barbadian rider Patrick Husbands provided a timely reminder of his quality when he won an astonishing three stakes races in posting four winners on Sunday’s 13-race Queen’s Plate card at Woodbine racetrack.

His most lucrative prize of the day was his capture of the CAN$233 000 Grade 2 Dance Smartly Stakes with 2014 Plate champion Lexie Lou, as they beat the three-year-old and upward fillies and mares by 1-1/4 lengths in race nine.

The 43-year-old, seven-time Woodbine champion added to his tally the $171 900 Grade 3 Singspiel Stakes, guiding favourite Danish Dynaformer to a superb victory over the three-year-olds and upward in race eight.

Husbands also landed the $119 200 Charlie Barley Stakes when he partnered with punters’ choice Conquest Enforcer to dominate the three-year-olds in race six. (CMC)
