WHAT FUTURE?

The time for Generation Next is now.

Barbados’ best junior ballers are through to the semi-finals of the Caribbean Basketball Confederation’s Under-16 Tournament after blowing out Antigua 75-61 yesterday to remain beaten in Guyana.

Holding on to a slim 28-25 half-time lead at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall, the young Bajans used a decisive 24-13 third-quarter run (52-38) to open up a double-digit lead before holding off their opponents in the final period for their third win in as many games.

Forward Kiserian Adams had a game-high 22 points, 11 rebounds and four blocks for his third straight double-double while Rasheed Maynard scored 18 points and Makaari Jones added 17 points, five assists and eight steals.

Barbados are slated to play fellow Group A unbeaten team The Bahamas today for the top spot in the pool before advancing to tomorrow’s semi-finals. (JM)
