WHAT ABOUT US?

That’s the question being asked by some Sugar Hill, St Joseph residents following reports last week that water-starved residents were finally experiencing relief in rural Barbados.

Recent reports from some living in Lammings and Airy Hill in St Joseph, and Airy Cot, St Thomas, had suggested that water had begun to flow more consistently in June.

That relief, according to Barbados Water Authority (BWA) communications specialist, Joyann Haigh, could be linked to the construction of a well pumping station at Sweet Vale, St George, which produces an additional half a million gallons to the Castle Grant reservoir.
