IT WAS A FULL WEEKEND of pan that started with a sizzling night at First Citizens Pan Fusion on Friday, and climaxed with a scorching six hours at Massy Pan Pun De Sand at Brandons Beach yesterday.

Thousands converged on the beach and spilled on to the Spring Garden Highway to be a part of the action. Intermittent showers did not deter them as they came armed with umbrellas.

They had earlier enjoyed Daryll Jordan Secondary, Tuk Pan On De Move, Aceworx Community Steel Orchestra, Newtown Playboys Steel Orchestra from Trinidad and DJ music from Kirk Browne and Daddy Biggz. They were awaiting Barbados’ biggest and best steel orchestra Mosaic, led by ace player Zig-E.

But, in the meantime, they enjoyed the performance of 1688 featuring sax player Mylon Clarke. They did a spouge mix and some calypso classics. (TTY)
