BARBADOS is sticking to its guns with Mike Maskell.
The Barbados Olympic Association (BOA) isn’t just defending his selection to Rio, but rather celebrating the veteran shooter going to another Summer Games despite public criticisms of Maskell’s fifth appearance at the Olympics.
BOA general manager Glyne Clarke expressed the sentiment during yesterday’s press briefing to announce Barbados’ full 12-member squad to the Rio Games.
“I believe we should be excited for Michael as this will be his fifth Olympics, and that is a feat for any athlete in the world and for us in Barbados to have such a person I see that as a cause for celebration,” reasoned Clarke. (JM)
