A SHOPLIFTER, apparently with three names and two nationalities, will take up residence at the prison for the next month while immigration officials seek to uncover her true identity.

When she entered the dock at the District “A” Magistrates’ Court yesterday, she bore the name Alexis Ernestine Charles.

However, prosecutor Sergeant Neville Reid said Charles, of Cane Garden, St Thomas, who was not known to the court, also had three matters pending under the names Alexis Ernestine Charles; Hosanna Songs, of School Lane, Halls Road, St Michael, and Althea Charles.

Reid also said that Charles had given her nationality as Guyanese in respect of one of the matters and as a St Lucian national in another.

It was also revealed that the Immigration Department had no record of her in the system. (TKS)
