Revellers ‘to be searched’

PREPARE TO BE SEARCHED.

That warning has been sent to revellers as well as spectators attending the two biggest events on the Crop Over calendar – Foreday Morning and Grand Kadooment – from Acting Commissioner of Police Tyrone Griffith, as police step up their efforts to reinforce security at both events.

Saying that “business will not be as usual for revellers”, the top cop yesterday revealed that searches would be conducted continuously throughout these events.

“One can also expect that both revellers and viewers of the parades can expect increased checks in terms of searches and so my advice is for persons who are going to Foreday Morning to factor in an earlier time frame for arriving at the venue,” Griffith said. (RB)
