Bravo: Move on

Sitting next to his fellow Trinidadian on the eve of today’s contest between Tridents and Trinbago Knight Riders at Kensington Oval, Bravo dismissed those who suggested that the match was between Trinidad ‘A’ and Trinidad ‘B’.

“I think that is very harsh. It is no longer islands versus islands. This is the fourth year of CPL and for that talk to be still floating around . . . . Two years ago, this guy won the title for Barbados and he was a big hero. He almost got a statue here in Barbados. It’s not the same thing now because of the combination of the teams,” said Bravo, the Knight Riders captain.

“It is a bit harsh that people are still bringing up this petty talk. We should go past that as Caribbean people. This tournament has done a lot for us regionally and internationally. At the end of the day, if Tridents go on to win, it is still Barbados Tridents getting all the praise and glory around the world.” (HG)
