FROM THE TIME Khalil Bryan stepped back on Barbados’ shores, he knew something was wrong.

He had come home after gaining his master’s in business with a background in computer engineering and he was back home ready to make a difference.

Opportunity quickly knocked as Bryan described a frustrating taxi ride he had from the airport.

“I told the guy we were going near St George Parish Church and he said that would be $39 and I told him the exact spot was just up the road in Gun Hill and he goes, ‘Oh, that will be $72’ and I asked why it was almost twice the money and he said because it was in a different zone and once you cross over, you have to charge the full rate,” he said.  (CA)
