MORE THAN HALF the money to be given out by the Student Revolving Loan Fund will go to those studying at Cave Hill Campus, says the man under whose portfolio the fund falls.

Minister of Education Ronald Jones said that the remaining available funds will go to those studying outside of Barbados in “priority” areas. Sixty per cent of the funds are to be allocated to those studying locally, he said.

The overall priority areas include forensic accounting, sustainable development, water management, or what Jones termed as “turning brackish water into potable water” and the creative arts industry.

The minister was speaking yesterday on the grounds of Erdiston College, Government Hill, St Michael, where a ceremony was held to relaunch the Erdistonian magazine and usher in the Broken Trident. (TSG)
