CLASSIC WILL NOT be dethroned without a fight.
The reigning monarch of the MQI/Mount Gay Pic-O-De-Crop Competition, whose real name is William Waithe, said he was confident in the strength of his two songs.
“I intend to defend [my title] with everything I’ve got; it’s not going to be a walkover, though. I have two strong songs . . . and I’m looking forward to a very a keen competition, but I’m not taking anything for granted. I’m not resting on my laurels at all,” he said.
Classic was speaking to the media yesterday after the draw for the July 30 premier competition was held at the Visitor’s Centre of Mount Gay Distilleries at Brandons, Spring Garden. (TSG)
