ST JOHN’S – West Indies, forced to follow-on with a deficit of 323 runs, were 21 for one in their second innings at the close on the third day of the first cricket Test at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium here Saturday.
The West Indies were dismissed for a modest 243 in their first innings, replying to India’s massive total of 566 for eight declared.
Opener Kraigg Brathwaite made the top score of 74 while wicket-keeper/batsman Shane Dowrich hit an unbeaten 57 as India’s seam bowlers, Umesh Yadav and Mohammed Shami took four wickets each for 41 and 66 runs respectively.
Brathwaite was the lone second innings casualty, trapped leg before wicket for two by Ishant Sharma. Â
